Blue Magnolia features Cathy Taylor (guitar/vocals) and Bob Paltrow (keys/vocals).

Blue Magnolia has a fun, alternative folk-rock sound featuring Cathy’s exquisite vocals, Paltrow’s emotive keys, interpretative arrangements, and distinct vocal harmonies. Blue Magnolia’s repertoire includes original material by Taylor and Paltrow, and an expanding volume of popular covers spanning the 1980s to the 2020s, including modern rock, pop, folk, blues and country—with hints of hip-hop and rap.

Blue Magnolia performs material by Dolly Parton, Radiohead, Brandi Carlile, Ozzy Osbourne, Cheryl Crow, Tears for Fears, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, Eurythmics, Eagles, The Cars and more.

Cathy Taylor

Singer-songwriter guitarist Cathy Taylor hails from Bellingham and performs throughout Whatcom & Skagit counties and across Washington state, both solo—and with her popular duo with Kathy Bastow, Wild Hearts, a folk-Americana duo weaving harmonies, guitar, and heartfelt storytelling. Cathy and Kathy (as they were formerly known!) bring their distinctive style to original songs and uniquely arranged covers.

Bob Paltrow

Singer-songwriter and keyboardist Bob Paltrow is a classically trained pianist, performing originals and covers on keyboards and guitar, including material from his former all-original Bellingham-based band Cats Like Us. Bob’s repertoire spans many genres, including folk, jazz, rock, punk, hip-hop, reggae, funk, soul, blues, and country. Bob has played piano for audiences for over 50 years and written over 300 original songs.
